Skootkidz is a unique local internet directory for mums, dads, grannies, granddads and carers of children! Skootkidz offers a wealth of local up to date and current information. Events, clubs and classes, child-friendly eating out, special offers and competitions, places to go and much more are all available at a click of the mouse! Skootkidz offers a weekly newsletter service delivered to inboxes of busy families.
Skootkidz offers advertisers the opportunity to reach a target audience of families and businesses who offer services to families. Skootkidz has been established in Edinburgh for five years and has recently expanded into Glasgow.
Five years ago skootkidz started out as a printed hard copy, Within in two years we began to notice that our advertisers budgets were going down but our expenses were going up, printing, delivery etc were all becoming more expensive. At the same time the internet was opening up to more and more people. Skootkidz, slowly began to experiment with a weekly newsletter and quickly it became clear that our readers liked this version. Not only did skootkidz never get lost under sofas or chucked in the dustbin, it was easily storable and accessible in family email inboxes.
After eight months of sending out both a printed and an email version of skootkidz we completely converted to reaching our customers by email. Our data base started of with 500 email addresses we now have nearly 6000 in Edinburgh. Our customers are not gained by mass mailing lists that are bought, but from customers who have either been invited to join our mailing list, or have signed up themselves through word of mouth or receiving our newsletter.
